Did you know that when slavery first began, the white people came up with a theory suggesting that if they paired, the dark with the light and the young with the old, African Americans together, they would turn against eachother, making the process of slavery easier for them? (and predicted that the theory would stick for atleast 10,000 years) Do you believe the theory worked thus far? Why or why not?

this isnt about WHO came up with it. This theory is specifically focusing on the slavery that took place between Caucasions and African Americans...(and if you think the theory is still working)...read it again

Okay look I did not ask if slavery still exist today. I asked if you guys believe that the theory made 400 years ago worked atleast up until now, and once again the theory was made to turn the African American community against eachother.

I think this similar thinking has been taking place in the middle east - only there the powers that be sweetened the deal by providing arms and training to the different factions to keep them fighting and distracted from us taking their oil (which leads us right to the mess where we are now).
While I can understand pitting the differing religions against each other or even the light and the dark, I can not see how pairing the young and old would be divisive in a community (i mean they don't see eye to eye, but they are not usually violent toward one another in any culture).
For example, I think in slavery perhaps light skinned slaves were given in home jobs that were not so hard as the outside jobs - this certainly could have caused jealousy or other bad feelings between the slaves themselves and could help to divide and conquer more easily. I would say though that the young and the old would be more caring of one another and that kind of division would be harder, I would think.
In my lifetime I have seen a bit of residual animosity between light and dark skinned African Americans that I think is left over learned hatred - but I see this less and less as I get older. It's hard to imagine current America coming up with a theory that would last for 10,000 years, let alone colonial America.
Peace!

NO, that is just stupid, slavery has been going on for more than 10,000 years and is still going on in some parts of the world. The first slaves were not black. The only thing that racist people can see is black slaves and the only thing that any one in the slave trade were thinking was making money.
Beautiful Mind!!! I don't think so, I think it should be " sick mind"
No, only a sick mind would think of a question like this!
There is nothing intelligent about your "question".

Ok, I checked out your question as you suggested. I see in your follow up comments that you said,
"goes to show not everyone on here can give an intelligent answer."
How intelligent is your non-answer to my question?
Here's what you said. "i don't know".
--
Now here's my answer to your question. I don't have an answer to a seeming invented theory. Where's your proof? Please post a link to an article making this claim. Then I'll be more than happy to show you where the theory falls short.

No. Their is no more slavery in the US although it is still practiced, but frowned upon in other parts of the world even today. Only on a very small scale.

well no, since we didn't pass the 10,000 year mark, I guess it didn't work. Also, I wasn't alive during slavery so, I don't know how they did the whole process. And, did you also know that slavery was started in Africa by the tribes. It was a way to get the "offenders" of their time out of their tribe.
