Mexicans are often pictured as lazy, however some people (especially in California) believe that they are hard workers. Is it true that they are lazy? Or are they just like any other cultural group in the world?

From my experience, most Mexicans work extremely hard for very little pay. I happen to work at the PHL airport where the workers are predominantly black, and also extremely lazy. Just to get the majority off their asses to do what they're paid to do is nearly impossible. The airport (specifically a certain airline) recently started hiring mexican workers and the entire operation has turned around. They know what work is, and don't sit around acting like the world owes them something.

That's the most false accusation that anyone could make about the Mexican people. Why do you think there was such a stink about deportation a while back. The media said that they will work hard jobs that Americans don't like to do for little pay. Americans like to work less for more pay. The Mexican people are extraordinary hard workers in all states, and many of them become very successful because of their hard work. They are not lazy. Especially the ones who walked from Mexico to the U.S. and found a job working picking oranges or what ever job, from sun up till sun down so they can send money to their families so they can have a better life. Stay away from those people who say they are all lazy. They are just afraid the Mexican will take their job someday because they are lazy. Whether the Mexican is legitimate to work in the states or not.

Do you beleive that americans are lazy? Some are and some arn't. Alot of people think of america and think of adjectives like fat, stupid, and lazy. You can never pick a ethnicity of people and call them all one thing or assume it. That would be the definition of stereotyping. So yes, some are lazy, but others work very hard and do a great job.

are you kidding me!!??! first of all, it is not a stereo type of mexicans.... it is a generalization of your own... Ok~ I lived in mexico for a year and a half, on my own, and it was no easy street. No host family, no program, no money, and no net- just me and dusty mexico. (Did i mention i couldn't even speak spanish when i got there?!???) anyhow, these people are constantly working, the old fashioned way- sweat and elbow grease. Their houses are extremely clean, i would say they swept 5 x's / day , and mopped at least 1 x a day. as a friend of mine from down there once told me, " it's one thing to be poor, it's another thing to be dirty..." . No, they are not truly lazy at all, and they do work very hard at whatever it is they are doing.

first of all im mexican and not just because mi mexican im saying this but i think its absurd that people think that.. anyone in any cultrue is lazy.. not all of course.. but i think most mexicans.. hispanics..especially imigrants watever are very hard workers.. because the fact that they are not citiznes.. they cannot be payed a good amount of money.. ergo they have to work in jobs like construction.. or any lower paying job.. unlike those that are citizens and get payed more money just by sitting on a ***** chair answering phones and using a ***** computer.. so ya i dont think they should be considerd so much lazy..

I believe there is laziness in every nationality and culture. It isn't just pertaining to one group. Therefore, I do not believe that all of any particular group has a certain thought form or belief. People are different as snowflakes. No two are exactly alike.

They harvest most the the fruit and veggies that we eat out in the blazing sun for very little money. I think calling them lazy is so untrue. However, there are lazy good-for-nothing bums in every nationality. It's best not to generalize about any group because you have so many exceptions.

I don't view them as lazy at all. They tend to get that stereotype because their culture has or used to have afternoon siestas regularly. Meaning rest, or sleep and they would shut everything down to go home, eat, and nap for like 2 hours. However before and after the siesta they would work really hard at their jobs.

Mexicans get a undesirable rap. some prosperous whites think of Mexicans are lazy because of the fact very few are prosperous yet. some working classification whites experience threatened by them because of the fact they're going to [Mexican immigrants] do the comparable artwork for much less, while in fact their anger could be directed in the direction of corrupt government and large employer who income on the situation. individually, i think of they [oftentimes] have a sturdy artwork ethic (maximum that come to the united statesare from annoying working peasant inventory). The siesta custom might have contributed to this fantasy interior the previous, yet I infrequently think of its proper immediately. oftentimes situations human beings of Mexican descent who's ancestor's have been right here for various generations get surpassed over of the equation and/or lumped in. Their's defenitely a difference thats hardly taken under consideration by non-Mexicans.

Mexicans' are the hardest working (yet least paid) combining all of the U.S.A.s' immigrants. I believe that Ameicans are the highest paid (for the least amount of productivity) as they know how the system works, per se. But, above all in all the races their are hard-workers and their are slackers as well. It is a stereotype to say the least :o)
