common reasons for illness and injury,in the "wild" are boats, jet skis,humans littering(turtles get caught in or eat the litter)and they can even get run over by cars when smaller

Like if a chemicles gets into water a turtle is swimming in or if its on the road and a heavy car gets over it is pretty much the most common way. About the species and such part, I dont know.I still dont know if my turtle is even a boy or girl and I had it for about 2 years. The only thing you would actually need to know is its living conditions.
