The Notebook, Shawshank Redemption, A Perfect World, Wizard of OZ, Far & Away, Signs, Lost Boys, There's Something About Mary, Poison Ivy, Fear, Stand By Me, the original Shining, Hide & Seek, The Outsiders., The Champ, War of the Worlds ( both old & new versions) I could go on and on but those are a few!!

Well, my favorite of all time is Casablanca but I don't know if a movie from that era (1940's) is the kind your looking for.

The only movie that has ever made me cry was Dil Hai Tumharra, it's an indian movie w/ subtitles. But dumb and dumber made me fall on the flooor laughing.

I generally gravitate toward comedies, but my all time favorite is "Casablanca." It really is one of the most romantic movies ever made.
