The plug is usually slightly bloody but the swelling could mean that you are on the way...;

It doesn't sound like you need to panic and go to the ER. It's not your bag of water breaking (water is not like string). This sounds very normal to me. If you were one of my patients I would tell them to just get some rest and wait patiently for labor to start. You are probably sore from 1) from the vag exam on the 16th, 2) pelvic congestion (poor circulation in the vaginal area - pressure from the baby's head is probably impairing circulation) and 3) all the moisture from the discharge. Try soaking in a warm bath and then try to wear a dress or gown with no panties so you can get some air down there. If you are too drippy for that then where a pad, but change it very frequently. You might also try doing some kegels to improve circulation. If the soarness does not go away and/or you do begin to smell a foul odor or run a temperature call your OB or Midwife.

i am the same as you! i was due 16th, i have been very uncomfortable i can hardly walk with out having pain and needing help. the discharge is normal and nothing to worry about its probably not your plug as it would be bloody and hard to miss. i have been having discharge for the past week & have tried everything people have suggested to get things moving with no luck! i am having an ultrasound today but they still refuse to induce me until next week which p***** me off. the reason you are sore could be because your baby has moved down and become engaged which my leave u with a funny feeling down there!
a nice hot (not too hot) bath really helps me and makes me feel better along with a little nap afterwards!
all i can say is good luck i hope you go soon i know how u feel, i suppose its a race now who goes first! lol
boy or girl?

I think it is a sign that things will start moving very soon. Who knows, you might already be on the way to giving birth given than your question was posted a few hours ago. Let us know when the baby is born (if you find 5 minutes free time in between the feeds). It would be interesting to hear from Krissy as well, see who gets there first!!! Good luck!!

I was just at the Dr thursday and asked about the mucus plug. She said that you will lose a lot of discharge and gross stuff but that if it does not have color it is not the mucus plug. With my first I was losing stuff for a few weeks before I delivered. Your body is getting ready to have a baby!! Good luck!

since you lost your plug before and didnt go into active labor your plug grows back after 2 days this may be the plug again the dr say its ok to go into labor 2 weeks before your due date and 2 weeks after your swollen down there and sore because your baby is dropping getting ready to be born i feel the same way it hurts to walk and i look like happy feet when i walk getting induced is a very hard thing try walking alot even tho it hurts and even tho your vagina is sore try having sex so you dont have to be induced sex helps induce labor because the semen contains something that ripens the cervix and helps you dialate if you get induced i hear its very painful try these things hope everything works out for you and congrats

Hi you could well be on your first stages of labour when your waters break it can be in a total gush or just a slow trickle the best advice is to ring your midwife and tell her what has happened she will know and maybe do a checkup on you.. if you have some contractions ring midwife asap cos youve started labour........ good luck which ever way it happens and i hope it all goes well

If you still don,t have labour pains can i suggest you go out and but an essential oil called clary sage, put half the bottle in a hot bath and stay in it as long as you can this helps to bring things on and even when you go to the hospital put it on a cloth and place it down on your pubic bone it helps labour on quicker. It works i have done this with my daughter through 3 deliveries. good luck

sounds like the mucus plug. but it does not mean you will have your baby today. i lost my mucus plug 1 week ago today and still no baby. but sounds like things are well on their way to you being in labor. maybe you will have the baby in a day or two.
good luck and congratulations

have you ever spoken with your well-being care specialist about the way you experience? you may want to nicely be depressed not out of your concern yet from a chemical imbalance. i might want to urge you to communicate consisting of her or him immediately away. i recognize what melancholy appears like. i have taken an anti-depressant for years -- and can want to have an rather problematical time without it. also, do you artwork outdoors of your position? After the recent toddler comes, you may favor to think about operating a minimum of area time. Having that destroy might want to be very effective for you and can want to grant you with some stability. little ones are very draining, even although they're stunning.
