No,I don't hate non-smoking restaurants. They are better for the health of all people. I think you should quit smoking for your health. There is nothing wonderful about it in any way, shape, or form. In fact, it is becoming almost a societal frown to smoke. Get with it.

we just passed a new law starting in jan there is no smoking in any public place... this is an issue no one will agree on but here is my case i grew up on my daddys lap he was a very heavy smoker then i married a smoker... my lungs are not in very good shape i get phneomnia and broncitious every winter.. i cough alot too all the time i dont smoke... but my drs have said the reason my lungs are not well is due to 2nd hand smoke i too doubted it at first thinking if that was it i would have been sick when i was young well my husban went out of town to work for 2 months in that two months i felt great no coughing no sneezing ect my lungs felt clearer.. then he came home and here we go again so i am srry if you think its wrong not to let you smoke but its not rite for you to be able to make me sick either..if i had a cold and walked over to your plate and sneezed in it you would be offended you wouldnt even like it if i was sitting next to you coughing and coughing even if i wasnt facing you its the same thing i would never concider doing anything to make anyone sick but yet that is what the smoke is doing to us....my dad died with lung problems and my husband still smokes and he coughs and hacks and has problems breathing at night... i also know how addictive it is and how hard it would be to quit i know this because when my dad was dying he was unconcious and on a breathing machine and he was having withdraw from cigs.. i made them put a patch on him and he was ok... so dont think i am one of thoes" anti smoking is horrible you bad bad person" kind of people because im not two of my favorite men in the world were and are smokers and i still love them dearly.. its just a complicated situation with no real good answer

Nope, personally I love being able to enjoy my meal without my eyes watering and my clothes and hair being made to stink of someone else's smoke.

With such a selfish attitude, count your lucky stars you don't live in Scotland - smoking has been banned from ALL enclosed public places. You want to smoke outwith your own home (or a friend's)? You have to go out into the street. It's been less than a year but it's working, cos even a lot of smokers realise how much more pleasant it is to go out of an evening and not have to sit in a fug of smoke.

Coming soon, no doubt, to a town near you... ;)

I worked in a restaurant that had smoking section and the tips were alot better in that section. It think it was because we didn't have to deal with kids, elderly, and or people who complained about the smoke.

In Cali there has been no smoking in any resturaunts since 1995
and no smoking in bars since 1997,
so if you lived here, I guess you would have to stay home and cook for yourself !!
Just deal with it dude !!

I prefer non-smoking restaurants. Second hand smoke is just as harmful to non smokers asit is to the smoker his/herself. Also i have been told that smoking kills the tastebuds. Sure makes an evening out not worth it.

no, I don't think there should be smoking in restaurants because people breathe it in that are non-smokers. It is bad for you to breathe in smoke even if you are not smoking. Do it in your own time.
