is it true that its called a cackle? it just kind of sounds wierd (no offense to the hyenas).....

well, anyway. i need to know for my story for school, so i need to know.

yes, i do KNOW what a cackle is but on many websites it has unusual animal group names and it says: a CACKLE of hyenas. im not being retarted!

The proper Collective noun for hyenas is "Clan" or "Pack" and less commonly "A Cackle"

A cackle is a laugh, talk, shrill, cry, etc. I don't think it has anything to do with hyenas, sorry.
