In history class, my group has to perform a skit about absolute monarchy. Any ideas?

I think you should do something with Louis XIV of France. He was a real interesting monarch who practiced absolutism.

When he was little, the nobles rebelled, and he was imprisoned and then he was like paranoid that they would rebel again. So he moved the capital to Versailles, and never let anyone have any power except himself. he never told anyone what he was doing in foreign policy and all that until it was already law. he was very secretive, and in charge of EVERYTHING. He threw a ton of grand balls and did this canal project thing (i think) all to distract the nobles from noticing that they didnt have any real power.

umm- i'm not quite sure how that could be a skit, but he is a very good example of absolute monarchy.

I agree with trying to use Louis XIV of France. Maybe try to act out court life at Versailles.

Louis encouraged the nobility to live there, which provided him with an excellent way of keeping an eye on them. He scheduled required entertainment, games, meetings, etc. which kept the nobles busy, therefore, giving them no time to think and/or plan a revolt.
