I consider myself republican and I believe it is but a blatant lie to say that the republican party denies basic rights to gays. They just dont support liberal issues such as same-sex marriage because conservative republicans think that it is immoral and wrong. But that is politics - the interplay of power.

What Republicans want to deny to the gay community is 'equal justice under the law,' one of the cornerstones of American democracy. Equal Justice says that if something is legal for one American to do, it should be legal for ANY American to do, regardless of race, gender, faith, etc. If one citizen's rights are protected, then all citizens' rights must be protected.
I can marry anyone I want. Why can't your gay friends?
I can marry a woman, why can't my lesbian co-worker?
Historically, America has a habit of singling out one segment of society and denying them certain rights. We denied blacks their freedom (slavery). We denied blacks the vote (Jim Crow laws.) We denied women the vote. There were laws that blacks and whites could not intermarry. Every time we have done that, there was lots of fighting, arguing, bad blood, and national sadness, with people proclaiming that allowing this would destroy our nation. Then we came to our senses and gave everyone the equality that they deserved under the Constitution, and nothing seriously bad happened.
So why don't we skip the angst this time and just go straight to the equality?

A good amount of republicans ARE in fact gay, so by denying gays rights, they are releasing their self hate for themselves. (It wouldn't make sense to a democrat or independent or anybody in their right mind)
Please all you conservatives who are going to give me thumbs down, just look at the statistics.
Foley - gay, but against gay rights
Charlie Christ (FLs gov) - closet gay, but against gay rights
The list goes on and on.

i could by no skill beat my spouse yet i'm unlikely to tell somebody else they could't. it is your good judgment and if we observed that good judgment to the utility of all regulations there could be no element in making regulations in any respect. somebody ought to settle on what limits there are on human habit - that's why we decide representatives to place in writing and uphold regulations which govern suitable/unacceptable habit. of direction, the legislative technique has been usurped in recent times by utilising the courts however the technique itself continues to be intact. The definition of marriage is one guy and one lady turning out to be one flesh. This time-honored has been favourite and utilized for hundreds of years by utilising diverse cultures ( the two Christian & pagan ). Cultures which, for in spite of reason, reject this concept usually do not final long - variety of like those which practiced newborn sacrifice. 2 people of a similar gender won't be able to alter into one flesh. they could love one yet another, have intercourse, have toddlers, be depressing as you say, & all something, yet not one flesh.

They are afraid of anything they do not understand (except for Rep. Foley-Ha) Republicans tend to be ignorant, intolerant people as a whole. They falsely believe they are more moral -but they are really just more judgmental and have stereotypical beliefs.
