Charles Range, Dem from NY, actually said he wants to instate the draft to keep politicians from being so quick to go to war. Is that their plan? Lol, drafting to fix the war in Iraq? What a guy! Your thoughts on the matter please...

Charles Range is a puppet for the Liberal agenda. If people see that a draft is being discussed in congress then they will automatically start blaming Bush for being in the war, regardless of who proposed a draft. These libs are sneaky.

People talk about Rangel being an "out there guy" but he is going to chair the Ways and Means Committee, the most powerful committee in Congress. The draft has been proposed 5 times in history, all four times by Democrats. Rangel himself has proposed it three (this will be the third).

However, there is a loophole if you go into public service, allowing you to not have to serve. How do you get into public service? OH, you know a politician who can get you a spoils system job.

You are missing the point. McCain says that we need to send more troops to Iraq. Then Rangel said that if more troops are required, we should re-instate the draft. The point is that there would be huge demonstrations if they tried to resume the draft and the Repubs know it. It is time to wind down this war. It is a hopeless failure and even McCain has said so.
Here is the no. of Iraqi deaths, not including our troops:

No, that's not the plan. Rangel is making a much broader point, which you stated. Then you make a leap that that's the democrat's plan to fix Iraq? Pretty poor thinking for a PHD.

It would be great to see you get drafted and sent to Iraq though.

I remember Rangel first stating this "plan" shortly after Murtha declared our Military couldn't prevail in Iraq.

Personally I wouldn't even deem this an idea, well, at least not a good one.

Wow, I'm surprised that a Demo has actually come up with any kind of plan! It doesn't shock me at all that it would be one as incrediably dumb as this one is. After the demo's got in office I calmed down after thinking the thing thru and decided that they aren't going to do anything more with their term in office except to ensure the Republicans will be back in office! Oh this one made my day!

It is one guy. And he was very outspoken against the war when it was voted on by congress. Don't be so crass to say that because one person says it the whole party thinks that way. It would be like me saying because of foley all republicans must be homosexual pedophiles. It's called a clue...get one.

Rangel is out there... and no, if you keep up with politics enough to know who he is even.. you clearly know that it's not the Democrats best idea...
