I hae reported it to the police and they stopped them for about two weeks. Virgin refuse to help even though it is a virgin phone sending the messages.

why not send a letter to virgin mobiles CEO containing a word for word copy of the messages your getting, I'm sure he won't be impressed that his company allows this to continue. i'd also keep on at the police stressing how upsetting it is, and also get in touch with offcom if virgin refuse to do anything about your problem

Try ringing NTL they have bought virgin mobile (it looks like Virgin have gained power over NTL now, you might be able to report it on NTL's website.)
I have heard ntl is going to be called Virgin media.
I don't give friends phone numbers out, but this is no friend, so don't worry about giving the number out. If you have NTL digital TV you can send the phone texts they cannot reply to via the TV.
Once you gave the number I went onto the virgin mobile site link on ntlworld, read their terms and conditions, they claim to be against such use. Gave them the number, telling them that it has been used to send obscene texts, this will have little effect from me, because I don't have the problem, but they do get back if past contact is an example. There is a space there to give your own mobile number to virgin, I can't see them totalling ignoring such contact.

Tell virgin that unless they deal with it permanently, you will switch to another mobile company. Give them a deadline - a week, say. And keep your word. Might mean changing your number, but probably worth it.
Just want to express my sympathy, this kind of thing is horrible, and people are not always appreciative of how upsetting it is. Take Care

Unfortunately if Virgin don't help you may have to switch and get a new number, get your phone opened up to any network and use someone else. Phone virgin 1 last time and tell them your going to switch unless this is resolved.

hey
first of all call the police again and give them the number as then they can track it down and arrest the sick bas**rd, and then contact a lawyer and sue virgin, there is a case there where you can get alot of cash, as they are protecting the sender and this is against the law, if you dont want the hassle, then just contact the police again as i said and let them track it down, if they dont then you have tow cases there where you could probably get up to £500,000 in compensation, negligence and damages. good luck.
:)

Do you love her or like he? If yes then never send obscene text messages. Sending obscene text messages may hurt her. One should not even think to hurt ones beloved one.

Get a new Sim get a new number, change to another company. It must be someone you have given your number to in the past or an acquaintance of someone you gave your number to, as how would they get it. Be more circumspect in the future.

If you haven't already contact your own provider. They might be able to do what Virgin refuses to do.

I would have thought that the police would be able to do something about this, but if your service provider is not proving helpul, it might be worth asking OFCOM to get involved.
