There is some difference of opinion among scientists as to whether or not humans are by nature monogamous or something else. From the viewpoint of socio-geneticists, men want to spread their seed around as much as possible, to ensure that their genes are copied and passed on. This would explain why most of Africa is polygamous, Asia largely polygamous, and many native American tribes were polygamous. Monogamy is fairly recent in human society (maybe 3,000 years old).
Then there is the birth of children. Many women, if not most, lose interest in sex during the first year or two of childrearing. Men do not. I don't think it's fair to expect men to be exactly like women.
Therefore, I don't enter monogamous contracts with women. It's worth discussing in depth with your mate.

The man has this BS planned out long before the get go. He wants to tap some strange, but when the fun and newness is gone, and he thinks this mistress hoe may not be as good as his wife, an easy way out is to use the " I think I should work things out with my wife " line, and act like he is sorry and wants to repent. Sadly, he will probably do it again, until she leaves his @ss.

it's not just the men. anyone who cheats has a defect in their brain that prevents them from committing to just one person for the rest of their lives. i believe it's all a self-esteem issue. having been in that situation, i can say that down deep, we feel like we can't be comfortable committing to just one person because we've been hurt so frequently throughout our lives by those that we were supposed to assume loved us unconditionally. it's a manipulation issue, that gives the cheater "control" to a degree in the extra-marital relationship, by way of promising unofficially one's devotion and commitment, for the sheer sake of pleasure with the person they're cheating with, making them feel "valuable" to an extent, and then yanking the rug out from underneath the one who made them feel valuable, hence, regaining control over their lives by heading off any rejection that would come about by the person they're cheating with. i understand this now and can work my life around that fact. i hope this gave you some insight dear. good luck to you!! TO WHOMEVER GAVE ME A THUMBS DOWN, RIGHT BACK AT YA. I GAVE A REAL, HEARTFELT OPINION HERE, SO DON'T JUDGE ME. THE QUESTION WAS ASKED, I GAVE AN ANSWER FROM MY HEART. IF IT'S NOT WHAT YOU FELT WAS A GOOD ANSWER, THAT'S A PERSONAL PROBLEM YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH. MY ANSWER IS THE TRUTH TO ME, AND I HAVE SHARED THAT TRUTH WITH THE ASKER. QUIT BEING SO JUDGMENTAL AND GET A LIFE OF YOUR OWN. Blessed be.

I don't know, but the vast majority of men who cheat on their wives have no intention of leaving their wives. I remember hearing a caller on 'Sex with Sue' on the radio asking a similar question.
The sexologist basically said most men never leave their wives and the reason is they have the best of both worlds. They get the excitement of the dating life again with their mistress, and still have security and stability at home.

They want they're cake and eat it too. How many times have you heard of a guy that's bored in his marriage but still needs the security of it. Therefore, he hides any affair from his wife and tells the other woman that he'll leave his wife as soon as the time is right. Viola... he keeps both until one of them figures it out and kicks his behind to the curb.

because some guys are jerks. They think they can have it all. If their wives stopped taking their lying asses back they'd calm down and stay put.

There are a lot of really nice guys out there too, that do know how to commit and stay true. Too bad the media doesn't give them their dues.

It's not only men who cheat! Women do to.

Some men do leave their wives and some women leave their husbands.

And "Lifetime" is a man-hating station. You think many women would watch the "network for women" if we weren't all cheaters?

LOL...not a very good representation of the male gender.

Come on, we all know the expression: the grass is always greener on the other side... so the saying is just as true when you get to "the other side" now your side is the other side and it looks greener.
