I know loads of people who have never learned to drive!

But seriously, there is nothing wrong except lack of confidence. It can be a downward spiral when you have one knockback (like driving fears) that make you think of all those other niggling things and before you know it you've given up on yourself. You should never give up on yourself.

Look at all the things you can do well, be totally honest and recognise every little thing that you have done well, succeeded at, even just not failed at.

Also, as a man, you're not necessarily going to have loads of friends. My brother has never kept hold of his friends and has a wife and 2 kids now and is perfectly happy. You don't need loads of friends to be happy, they just help.

I recommend two things. First I would see your doctor as I think you are suffering from mild depression. Taking anti-depressants for awhile can help you back on track and stop the negative thoughts. Second, find something you like doing and just go for it. If you like music go to clubs by yourself or gigs by yourself. If you can rope someone into coming along then good, but honestly, you can go by yourself and make the effort to talk to people. Have a few drinks but don't go overboard. It'll help loosen you up a bit. Join a club, find a hobby, keep yourself occupied.

Finally, don't take yourself or others too seriously. Nothing that you think is a big deal is really a big deal. Don't worry about what other people think and don't think everyone is having a better life than you because they're not. Make the most of what you have and focus on the positives. It's hardwork but it's worth it.

Good luck, I'm sure that things will turn around for you sooner or later.

Are you sure that you fail at everything, or are you just afraid of failure? There is a difference. The best way to get over your fear is to face it. Keep practicing with your driving until you are comfortable enough to take the test. Don't be afraid of it - just do it. Not passing the test isn't the end of the world, and you can always retake it if necessary. You will probably find that it is easier than you think, and wonder why you worried so much about it.. Also I suggest that you try to find a hobby of some kind, something that you enjoy doing that would make you feel better. That's what I do when I am depressed or lonely. Just remember that times will change and things will get better, but you have to have the motivation to make it happen. Good luck!

Find yourself a hobby, or something to fill in your time. Or even try volunteering, at a church, hospital, school, or anything that you are in contact with other people. It will help build your confidence, and friends will come with that. The more you are involved with something, the less you will think of your bad times. Get doing something, concentrate on your drivers test, and you will be fine.

Pick something to do in your free time that you know you will excell at, there is always going to be something that you are good at. You can get something from the doctors to calm your nerves so that you can take your driving test. You just need a gentle push to get motivated and find something that you like doing. Good luck
