I have a Samsung A650, w/o WAP, but I have a usb cable. Bitpim will back up the phonebook, but won't allow transfer of pics/tones. I've tried GAGIN, PCLink, Samsung PC Studio 3, Audacity, etc, nothing will transfer to my phone, some won't even recognize it's plugged in! What I really want to know is a good (reliable) way to send pics/tones to my phone through my laptop, back and forth. I don't know if the Verizon providers have locked it or if I'm even using the right driver... it was a pain to find the one I'm using now! I just think it's ridiculous to have internet on a phone I use maybe... twice a day, that's what a $1,500 laptop is for :-P Any advice would be helpful.

Yeah, Verizon blocks it, so they can make money from ring tones etc, you have to buy their software.

T-Mobile lets you upload your own ring tones and music without charge or additional equipment or software

My cousin has a mac and had problem downloading the ringers to his telephone. I even have living house windows and all I do is plug contained in the usb to the workstation and look ahead to the demonstrate screen to pop up, if no longer something pops up pass seem for it in my workstation and click on the dchronic. then you definately open the folder the place your music is at and only drag the music you prefer to the cellular telephone folder. in case you had living house windows it would be plenty less difficult reason i only plug it in and open my living house windows media participant and upload songs to the telephone.
