who i know is sort of his type but she's not "fun" and "spontaneous" (which he calls me). he wanted to keep seeing me as friends but i told him that i needed time apart till i've moved on completely too. we were in a serious relationship together so i don't think we'll ever completely get over eachother.but umm... i tried not seeing/talking to him for 5 days, and... i can't say that i miss him all that much. i've also met someone new online (who goes to my college and seems relatively normal). i can feel myself moving on, but... sometimes i wish me and my ex could really just be friends. but also i feel like if he had to leave to see his new girlfriend, i'd feel somewhat snubbed (even if i shouldn't). recently, after i stopped contact with him, he put an away message up that says "depression hurts". i'm pretty sure it has something to do with me cutting contact. the thing is, he JUST started a new relationship with a nice girl, so why's he depressed now? should i talk to him?

Don't talk to him. You can feel yourself moving on, so don't take it back. Go with it.

NO! Move on with your life, seems like you have a great start. Your ex will only try and bring you down (misery love company). If you MUST talk to him, wait a little while longer when you are more planted. Enjoy your new life!

I think you really need to move on- there's no need to try to be friends. His love life is no longer your concern. Try not talking to him for 5 months, not 5 days!
