To set the record straight I am a Democrat and I hate abortion when it is used for birth control! I know a lady who was married and she had 5 abortions! She said the last time it would have been twins! I know another lady that I went to both Jr, High and High school who again as a married woman got an abortion and she just lost her mind over it! She Cuts her stomach very badly she is so scarred her tummy looks like a road map.
Now if I had a daughter around 12 and she had been raped on her way home from school I may be tempted not to make her have a strange grown mans baby, It is very rare that a baby needs to be aborted to save the Mothers life very rare but in that case yes but not for birth control! There are Lot's of people wanting to adopt..and I am in a wheel chair and if they are going to abort the babies anyway why throw them away like trash? Let their tragic deaths help bring health to those who need it.

I think that a woman has the right to choose, but I do not believe that abortion should be used as a form of birth control. I believe in abortions if the mother or child is in danger and in cases of rape or incest. I am definitely against partial birth abortions if there is no danger to the mother or child. I heard of a doctor that will kill a baby by putting a hole into his soft spot on the head just prior to delivery and putting down that the mother was suffering from depression and wanted an abortion to make it legal. That is completely wrong on so many different levels.

Its easy to sit back and say all is well, but unless its forced rape, or the health of the mother, why should it be legal to murder???
Stem cell research kills the fetus also, is that justified too? I am a democrat and I don't support wholesale abortion as a means of birth control. With depo shots, and all the new medications, there should be no reason for an accidental pregnancy.
People have to have some common sense.

I agree in part, with that being irresponsible or whatever does not justify taking of an innocent life...ever.
But along the same line, Even if a baby is threatening a mother's life doctors can always get the baby out one way or another. Whether early or through a C-section. They baby might not have as much of a chance but it would still not being killing the baby.

Abortion has a place, for many valid physical & psychological reasons, ( some you mentioned) not as birth control.
The issue should be a woman's choice guided by her physician
& her conscience.
Politics have no place in the decision at all.
Re. stem cell research.
Probably one of the most significant medical developments ever.
Might not havde to worry about a baby being born disfigured or incompatible w/ life.
Would like to see what an individual, closed minded on these subjects would do if it were their child, wife or unborn in jeopardy.

In my moderate republican view, I think that you have a conservative view. I mean you dont think that mothers have the right to abort just because they want to. And republicans as well believe that if the life of the mother is at stake, abortion is acceptable. Even Catholic church agrees to that. With regards to stem cell, i dont find it wrong to extract cells from dead fetus which will be aborted but not from healthy fetus which will be aborted.

You seem to contradict yourself alot in your statement. If abortion was only made legal for babies with complications or if the woman was raped then how do we know that the woman would not just lie to the abortion clinic? It is a hard situation no matter what, I still think that pro-choice is the right way to go. No matter what the circumstances. Unfortunately we live in a society where condoms break and sh@* happens.

Sounds logical. However, what kind of life will the child and his or her mother have? Most of the people fighting against abortion are also against single parenthood, welfare, some types of adoptions, anti-poverty programs, raising the minimum wage, equal pay for equal work, child care programs etc. Will we just be ending the killing of babies or telling women they can only be married mothers or lose all reproduction rights?

I can agree with you except the part about not having disfigured babies , who's to say their life isn't just as valuable as a "model" lets say.We all know how important the things they do and say are.

I've heard it's ok ,in some instances, rape and incest, being a couple, for an abortion to be allowed....Why punish the child for the manner in which it was conceived,...and talk about playing God....
