You can go to any major jobsearch site (like monster.com or hotjobs.com) and type in "office manager" and read the job descriptions that come up in the search to get a good overview of the actual duties sought by employers. You can even add a keyword for a specific industry, if you want.

Go to>> http://www.bls.gov/oco, find the index and click on managers, it should describe the duties there.
