three options: 1. try changing the region:
go to my computer
right click on dvd drive
select properties then click on the hardware tab
highlight dvd drive and click properties
click dvd region and select your own region. you can only do this a limited number of times.

2. upgrade the firmware of your dvd drive.
if your dvd drive has already been changed too many times, applying firmware upgrade might reset it allowing you to change the region setting again

3. use a program such as dvd region and css free from www.dvdidle.com

It's sounds like you are trying to read DVDs from several regions(asumption). Therefore which ever Region you set that hardware to will be wrong for some DVDs. Most Drives limit the number of times you can change this to about 5 although certain drives can be reset. Much better is to just take the easy option and use one of the many Decss tools available on the net to remove the encryption so you can then play it region free.

I don't know what your set-up is, but I can change my regions up to five times I believe. When I insert the DVD, it advises me on the screen that it's the wrong area code, and if you change the area code, then the DVD will play.

I hope that helps. Good luck.
