I'd like to hear from the right how our economy is strong, ...without using GDP,GNP or the stock market as examples. with the bottom 50% of the country only controlling about 1% of that end of the economy it's not relevant to the working man or woman.

I want to hear from the right that the war is necessary for security with facts not sermons about spreading free market democracy..

I want to hear from the right a shred of proof that global warming "is not" directly tied too carbon and other industrial pollutants ...

I want to hear from the right that corruption on the right is somehow less egregious than the corruption on the left...

Well, you won't hear it from me. In answer to your main question, if there WAS a connect between right wing and reality, you wouldn't have a right wing. Or put another way, there are no reality sockets the right wing can plug into. Not to to digress, but it also depends you how you define "reality." War, economy, corruption and environment are very real, no matter what side of the ailse you're sitting on.

Who says these are the things the country wants to talk about? The economy is at it's strongest right now and the war is needed cause like see we have a thing called terrrorist who want to destroy us and will not be swayed. They will do it on their soil or ours, they aren't picky. I heard from some top scientists they think the global warming issue is a way to get money into the wrong hands as our earth is actually cooler than it was 60 yrs. ago. Lets see, the left is definitly more corrupt than the right look at some of the people you've had in office. Ted Kennedy with Jesse Jackson as his side kick, Clinton with no morals, Michael Moore as a spokesman for the demo's and Kerry with his famous speech an the list goes on. And the rest you don't want to talk about like abortion etc. gives the right a big boost morally wise.

I like many Republicans was against the Iraq War, the difference is, that, unlike the vast majority of liberals who now oppose the war, I was against it when Bill Clinton signed a Congressional resolution calling for regime change in Iraq in order to replace Saddam Hussein's dictatorship with a democracy. I think the vast majority of Bush haters really don't oppose the war, they oppose Bush, given that the bill Clinton signed got only 29 No votes in the House from Democrats, and NONE in the Senate.

I don't know if I qualify as a right winger anymore, but I do think the economy is strong. Sure, one can look at a few guys like Bill Gates and compare them to folks below the poverty line and say there is unjustice there. But I'm not interested in Bill Gates. I'm never going to get there and neither are you. Gates is an anomaly. Instead of comparing those under the poverty line with Gates, determine what is going to make someone happy and determine if they are there. Having worked with a lot of folks who aren't doing well economically, I've noticed that a lot of people under the poverty line have cars, a place to live, TVs, and even cable. A lot of people under the poverty line are obese. Some wear "nice" clothes and you would never know that they were under the poverty line. Compare people in America who are under the poverty line with real poverty in Africa. It doesn't compare. Sure, there are a few people in America who are living on the streets, but this is often due to drug use and mental illness. And while you see a lot of those folks, the percentage of the general population is really very small. This is not to say that we should not do much to bring that number to zero, but there are just some folks who don't want to do what they need to do to help themselves and there is nothing you can do about that. The way I figure it is that, if you have a TV, and a place to live, you are doing okay. Not great, but I'm not so worried about you. 99% of the population is at that point or better. Isn't that great? Or are we still going to freak out about the less than 1%?

And if you are worried about some small percentage of people controlling the country, take a lot around the world. It's the same everywhere. Always has been. Always will. Even and especially in communist countries. But count your blessings. You live in a pretty extraordinary place.

Of course, many of us are still insecure about losing our jobs and our places to live and our incomes, etc. But I'm doing pretty well and I worry big time about that anyway, so making people rock bottom secure is an illusion. It can't be done.

Health care? Hospitals will not turn away anyone. If you really have something that is going to cost real money, Hospitals will either give you treatment now and make you pay later or get you medicare or social security. Who pays for this? You do in higher health care costs and higher medical insurance costs. My only issue with this system is that those without med insurance will not get routine and preventative care.

Stem cell research? I agree. Some dumb Republicans are being stupid.

Abortion? Killing a baby is immoral. As open minded and reasonable as I try to be, ultimately, you are killing someone that, if given the choice, might want to live. Right to choose? I think those on the left are rationalizing in that they don't see the fetus as a human being who might have rights. I'm no supporter of Operation Rescue, but, after seeing the birth of my two children and feeling them moving in my wife's body before they were born, I cannot think of the fetus as anyone other than a human being. To think otherwise, is just to turn your brain off to the rights of another. As such, I understand where some conservatives are coming from. To suggest that they are disconnected on that issue is to underestimate your adversary.

Gay rights? I suspect that the reason that conservatives don't like gay rights is because of religion and because gays are very strange to "regular" folks. Most people are so uncomfortable around the gay lifestyle that you see anti-gay bills and propositions winning in a lot of places. Even many democrats are uncomfortable with the gay lifestyle. Of course, if we gave gays the same rights as straight couples, it wouldn't make any difference to us straight couples in the long run. So who cares? But if you ask me to vote on it, I'm going to come down on the status quo. Gay love isn't the same thing as straight love from society's point of view. Maybe it will be someday. But not now.

I agree with you on Global warming as well as on looking for sustainable energy sources and energy efficient modes of transportation. The GOP has been lax in this area.

As for curruption, both parties have a lot of it. But some of these scandals are totally overblown, too. The media just likes to make it look like a scandal to sell papers.

As I said before, count your blessings. This is a great place to be in. We have a little work to do, but we should be thankful for what we do have.

Were just disconnected from your reality. :-)

I don't believe our economy is very strong. It doesn't mater what party is in power as long as we import more than we export it will get worse.

Some things in life are unpleasant but they will only get worse if they are ignored.

I agree with you, I believe global warming is tied to carbon emissions.

Again I agree with you, corruption is corruption no mater who it is.
