For married menfolk only: What makes a man cheat on his wife?

The temptation of the "FORBIDDEN FRUIT". Because the weak little boys want to know they still "got it". It takes a true man to be honorable and respectful.

Men have two biologically driven strategies for reproduction.

1. Have sex with lots of low quality women with no investment in them or the children whatsoever. The more, the more likely the chance the children that result will pass his genes into the future. Investment in any one of these is a bad idea because it interferes with the business of screwing as many women as possible and the women are of low quality anyway.

2. Marry a high quality woman and stay with her. Invest everything in her and the children that result so as to give the best possible chance for them. Fewer kids but vastly increased success rate. Plus the quality of the society that results vastly increases the chances of everyone involved.

The quality of the man determines which method he chooses. If you choose a low quality man for number 2, don't be surprised when he engages in strategy 1 and then abandons you.

However, it's equally a disaster for a high quality man to engage in strategy 2, only to find out the woman is of low quality and a bad investment. If your man is of high quality and discovers this, he will most likely leave you immediately. Or, he might default to strategy 1 BECAUSE HE IS ALREADY DOING THAT EVEN THOUGH HE IS MARRIED, by virtue of the quality of the woman. Seriously, if the woman proves herself to not be a good one, then he better start screwing around if he wants to maintain the chances of passing on his genes.

The implications for this are twofold. Don't allow low quality men in your life. Low quality is easy to spot. They have bad habits like drug/alcohol use, criminal record, violent, anti-social, come from broken families etc. Most minorities fit this profile, unfortunately so you better be aware of this issue. Bottom line. Will he stay married to you and raise his kids? If he gives you even the slightest reason to think the answer to that question is no, he should not be around.

Second implication is you MUST demonstrate quality or your man will leave and/or cheat. You asked what makes a man cheat on his wife. And, this is the reason. It's a reason 100% in your control, not at all difficult to address and almost completely reliable if your man isn't scum.

I don't know. 21 years and still no interest in cheating. It's a bad thing to do to someone you care about; for any reason. Maybe it's all in how we are raised. Me? 10 commandments, golden rule, scouting oath, and somewhere along the way I just knew it was a wrong thing to do. I don't know why these other guys cheat.
