i think there should be but not just because of race but for disadvantaged people of all groups!

In reality, you have a lot of black folks that are willing to get out there and work for a living.
The next thing they'll say is why are black people taking all the jobs.
They are some screwed up people.

man.... affirmative action can be a good thing.... but it can be a bad thing too.... it can be a good thing in that: if you got a black person and a white person with the same qualifications applying for a job at a primarily white firm to give the job to the black person.... thus giving the brother a better chance in life... however when black folks use affirmative action as a crutch... we got a problem. some folks think just cause there ain't nothing but 10 black folks working at a company with over 400 employees that they should be able to get employed regard less if they got a criminal record as long as the Nile river and a court date next Monday! not cool

I believe in a reasonable effort to help level the playing field to account for past inequalities, but I acknowledge there has yet to be a perfect way to do this.

Because they're ignorant. Most of the people who answered this quesiton are ignorant. No one gets a free ride in this country, including blacks. Hell, if I got a free ride, would I be working my a ss off to pay my bills for my college education? No. I don't think so.
