lot's of advice, the issue is finding repair shops. The more common truck you drive (i.e Freight-Shaker) and a common engine (cummins/detriot) the better chance you won't pay a huge price liek you would for a Cat engine. I am not downing 'cat' they work hard BUT when they break, plan on a second mortgage.
Good luck, they require a lot of TLC.

the biggest problem with your question is ,do you care about resale value or not? If you care about resale value and the way other drivers rate your ride ( this is a HUGE deal to MOST owner operators) Kenworth W900L with a 550/600 CAT and an 18spd transmission is the dream truck of most owner ops followed closly by the Peterbilt 379 with 126 in hood and the same 550 cat and 18 spd ,but if you do not mind MUCH LOWER resale or trade-in value then the VOLVO 660 is bigger inside and turns tighter and does alot of stuff better- but you will need thick skin or sharp wit as the channell 19 jerks on the cb will say volvos suck and stuff like that and you might say that won't bother you but after you spend $130,000.00 dollars you want people to say "DAMN THAT'S A COOL TRUCK!" just ask volvo drivers at the truck sop and they will all say how good they are then pick up a used truck paper and look at used volvo prices

RE:
What is the best brand of a semi truck I could get?
Im thinking one that has over 500 hp, and it has to have a large sleeper big enough for two, or one that has two beds in it.

PETERBILT no class in fiberglass. petercars have a better resale value. the peterbilt i drive has the acert cat with an 18 speed trans and 3.36 rears ,70 inch sleeper bunk beds and refrigerator. the motor is rated at 475 but can be turned up as high as600hp. we also have a peterbilt with the isx cummins motor with 563hp . it does get better fuel milage. 5.5 compared to 4.5 on mine.i still prefer the cat motor tho.

I'm pretty impressed with the KWs. Friend of mine has a truck with over about 1,500,000 miles on it and it never any major problems besides the typical wear and tear.

I've worked on internationals and volvos with 400 horse motors.I haven't really driven them. But as far as coolness I'd suggest taking a look at western star.

I don't know anyone here that doesn't want a Peterbuilt 379 extended hood. Second best is a Kenworth W900
