My computer crashed a while back & i had to get a new modem.

The old computer had a video card for music, a dvd burner & player etc...

Now i can't watch dvd's, burn or even listen to cd's.

When i try it say's something like video card is not compatiable with media or something to that effect.

What is wrong & what should i do???
Did i need to install a new video card with the modem???

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!

Looks like you have a driver problem. Check that your Video card drivers are ok or not. it has nothing to do with a new modem. You can try Driver Magician software for detecting the correct driver.

Modem has nothing to do with video card, you need to buy a better video card.

Try to change your default device with your old sound card, because after u install your new modem, windows detect the sound card from modem and change that in default device.
Go in control panel -->Sounds and audio device-->Audio-->Default Device, and select your sound card.

"...a video card for music"? Is that something new out there? Silly me, I thought listening was thru an audio card, and speakers.
Sorry, I don't get out too much.

I would recommend going to your manufactures website and downloading drivers for the video card. If there is another problem, it may be shown in device manager (control panel - system - hardware tab - device manager)
