Well, I did love my global class, so, yes, I know where Austria is located.
There was a T.V. show [can't remember the name] and they were asking people (just people walking by) if they knew who Laura Bush was and a good percent didn't.
So, it's not surprising that a good percent don't know where Austria is; some Americans don't concern themselves with other countries [especially, those that aren't always in the news].

Austria? Sure...fire up the BMW in Paris, head toward Berlin, take the last Rome exit before you actually get to Berlin... can't miss Austria. We Americans aren't all as dumb as some people may like to think.

Of course I do. But Americans are quite stupid. They don't study geography.
But they're better than the Japanese - they think there are only five countries in the world - Japan, Russia, Australia, "Europe", and "America".

I do not agree. Most Americans are not as stupid (or fat) as the rest of the world thinks we are.
