OK - so when the US embassies were attacked in Afghanistan & Sudan, what type of leadership did Clinton provide?
This is an excerpt from a 1998 CNN article:
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Saying "there will be no sanctuary for terrorists," President Clinton on Thursday said the U.S. strikes against terrorist bases in Afghanistan and a facility in Sudan are part of "a long, ongoing struggle between freedom and fanaticism."
His comments were broadcast live from the White House shortly after he arrived in Washington from his vacation in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
American cruise missiles pounded sites in Afghanistan and Sudan Thursday in retaliation for the August 7 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
U.S. officials say the six sites attacked in Afghanistan were part of a network of terrorist compounds near the Pakistani border that housed supporters of Saudi millionaire Osama bin Laden.
American officials say they have "convincing evidence" that bin Laden, who has been given shelter by Afghanistan's Islamic rulers, was involved in the bombings of the east African embassies.
In the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, the El Shifa Pharmaceutical Industries factory -- which U.S. officials say was housing chemical weapons -- was also attacked.
Pentagon sources confirmed to CNN that the attacks were made with cruise missiles, not aircraft. The missiles were fired from ships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea. The simultaneous attacks took place about 1:30 p.m. EDT (1730 GMT).
In a brief comment made before his departure, the president said, "Today, we have struck back."
The president said he ordered the strike against bin Laden and his compatriots because of "compelling information they were planning additional terrorist attacks against our citizens and others with the inevitable collateral casualties and .. seeking to acquire chemical weapons and other dangerous weapons."
Sudanese television showed piles of rubble at the factory and fire raging in the distance. People were seen walking through the damage, wearing masks."
There's some real leadership for you. If Clinton had gone in after the terrorists after the attacks on those embassies, there might not have been a 9-11. Oh, and he knew about the chemical weapons too. Amazing how you Dems forgot all about that.
So stop blaming Bush for everything.

Scott if you really want to take this road your going to fail....
Huge surplus? Pure Accounting stuff. He rasied taxes and they did not count social security costs. We've had to spend money to build up the downsized military he made plus form a whole new Dept. of HS. that costs money.
Iraq? Clinton's status quo was changing nothing. Saddam was violating the ceasefire, stealling the oil for food money, and hacd Chemical Ali and the boys on staff to make WMD's. Operation Desert Fox was proof your boy lacked the guts to do the job. Iraq as funded terror notably the Hamas. They also had guys like AbuNidal hiding there. Nobody said anything about Al Queda.
Election? War weary, anti bush bashing & scandal helps. The Dems only ideas were we hate Bush, cut & run, we hate Wal Mart, and stem cells solve everything....... Mark Folley was the last straw.
Lead a Nation? How about do the damn job. Your rosy view of the '90's is not shared by all or most historians. His Economy ran on the dot com bubble. He went through 4, I said 4 SEC DEF's in 8 years. ALL BAD! He failed to stop Al Queda in Africa, in Yemen, at Kobar towers, etc. His North Korea deal failed. Haiti is still a quagmire. Kosovo? Still troops there 10 years later. Waco & Janet Reno?, lying under oath, whitewater, Etc., etc, etc.

You can't thank Rush Limbaugh tor this. He has made a living trashing Clinton. He still does so daily. Unfortunately many of he "ditto heads" believe every word he says. If fact Rush is for "group thinking".
What is Bill Clinton's biggest crime? His morals are at best, questionable. That IS NOT a crime. I'm sure Mark Foley would agree since he has not been charged with a crime. No, Bill's biggest crime was that he lied under oath. Yes, he lied about sex. Probably to protect his family. Sounds like something millions of Americans have also done at some time. But you have to ask - how many Americans died as a result of that lie about sex? Answer -Zero.
Now , lets look at Bush. Did he lie? YES. More than once? YES. Was it under oath? NO..... oh, so that is the reason Clinton is so bad and Bush so good. I forgot, did anyone die as a result of Bush's lies? YES. 3000 American troops have lost their lives as a direct result of his lies. Wow, looking at it in that perspective, it looks like Bush's lies are by far worse than the one lie of Clinton's. Given that, it is truly hard to imagine why anyone of Bush's followers would ever bring up Bill Clinton as a bad man. Go figure.

First of all if you go back and check into that huge surplus you'll find out it wasn't as big as we were led to believe and most of it was already spent before Bush got in. Then the economy was changing and by 2000 was starting to slip due to the progression of developing countries and so it was already going down hill only to plummet with 9/11. There defitnitly is a connection which Saddam even attested to in his trial to him, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda. We don't blame Billy for the lost election but we do for not having gone after the terrorists after they attacked us how many times on his watch and for letting Bin Laden slip away. And numerous other things and no he can't do anything better than Bush, well except for cheating on his wife.

Clinton wanted to go to iraq too, but his credibility was shot. he also talked about the WMD's and so did everyone else in congress. I guess they lied too.
Clinton didn't do a damn thing to begin to protect america. he did nothing in retaliation of all the terrorist attacks we had during his administration. Surplus? The Ba$tard just about wiped out our military completely. He took that deficit and left us in a recession. Clinton did more damage to this country that will be felt for decades. Least of which was him getting some strange since his dike wife won't have him.
I don't blame clinton for Iraq, I blame the liberals for embolding the terrorist.

I agree with the dude!
Do you know how many secret operative missions were shutdown because Clinton would rather balance the budget then keep an eye on terrorist? Well I do. Clinton allowed our enemies to arm themselves and organize, and yes, 911 would not have happened if he had not done that.
