My hubby and 2 kids (3 and 7 yrs) and I have 5 weeks to kill Feb to Mar '07 before we emigrate to Oz. Can anyone recommend an interesting way to spend this time that is fun, out of the ordinary and yet won't break the bank? We are even prepared to do a little holiday work to fund it.

Camping in Italy, France or Spain
if you go in February, you could go skiing in Italy, France, Austria, Germany or Switzerland
mediterranean cruise or caribean cruise would be better for weather
Egypt or Morocco -pyramids and souk markets

Have a good holiday and good luck in Oz.

Why not do both or at least as best as you can/similar.
Go to Morocco and Spain and then more after in Europe if you still have time!!!

There's so much to see and do in Morocco and it's so cheap.
I don't think you could work there though, which is why I suggest Morocco first then head over to Spain.

Then you can get a ferry from north of Morocco (Tangier) to Spain. By this time the weather will be warmer in Spain and it will be easy to get a job too (if needed).

Then if you still had time you could go somewhere else in Europe.

This is something I would love to do, I am so jealous!!!
We drove through France and Spain last year and went to Morocco. It was amazing but we had little time. I have always said we would do it again but only if we had loads and loads of time!

I can add lots more info (really cheap flights, hotels etc..) if you think this sounds good, just edit you're message if you do!

i might noticeably propose Tunisia for a miles less costly trip. The provider and standards are larger in europe so a three celebrity in Tunisia is basically approximately the equivalent of four celebrity in Spain. The way of existence is fairly different and a visit into the Sahara or Atlas mountains is far less costly and an remarkable journey. We visited Matmatta the place celebrity Wars became into filmed. the cost of each and every thing is extremely much less costly and you will possibly be able to haggle the fees down next to no longer something. I additionally loathe vacations in Europe and function visited lots of places by out the international. I enjoyed the Tunisa trip greater effective than the two India or the Dominican Republic. desire this enables you!!

I would avoid the middle east and turkey, as it is very dangerous and i wouldn't want to risk mi families life by going there - the terrorists have warned holidaymakers to stay out as they dont want us there

Portugal's Algarve is a favorite winter destination of Canadians because there are condos available at low off-season rates. Read about the Algarve here:
