I want to write a short blurb on polar reversal. I saw a film on this in a geology class twenty years ago - they were using lava flow on the ocean floor to prove the poles had reversed several times and then dug up several ancient aboriginal campfires that had melted rock to prove that it had happened while humans were on earth. But every time I try to yahoo it all I get are religious sites. Thanks!

On polar reversal, read

and

and maybe also this

I heard about the melted rock and the Jurassic human campfire theory. But I believe it has been countered by the fact that (at that time) very small amounts of magma have been pushed up "gently and quietly" through a thin crust, and cooled there.
