How can you say they are out of touch? I once heard a U.S. senator, who was making well over a hundred thousand per year, say that his income put him in the "lower middle class". How are people like that going to actually relate to people that are actually in the "lower middle class". Why can't we elect congressmen that actually know what is going on in the lives of their constituents? The answer is MONEY. To much MONEY in politics. It breeds corruption.
