It depends on the state. Each state has different laws. Some states divide everything 50%, some you need a lawyer for to fight tooth and nail because everything is up for grabs. Usually anything you owned/had before the marraige would stay yours.

Depends if they sighned a prenup agreement and which state they resided in etc. Most states are 50-50. Who makes more $, who needs the assets more say a baby bed. Whose name is it under and more.

Usually the woman gets 90% of the assetts and the kids!! The man gets visitation rights and gets to pay child support until the kids are at least 18.

It varies. It usually depends on who deserves what or who would be better off with something. It's different from case to case. I'm a paralegal.
