So, I decided to buy wii for this christmas. I was thinking of just buying the basics since it comes with the sport games. I probably can't spend or then $400 and I want few good games like redsteel, mario (don't know which one) and ZELDA. Anyway I was thinking should I get the bundle pack instead? and should I pre-order from best buy, costco, wal-mart, or ebgames? Which stores has one in stock for me to pick one up by Nov. 22nd? And one last thing do I need to buy memory card to be able to play?(don't have gamecube)
Thanks for answering

you do not need a memory card if your only getting one game. the memory on the wii can only hold one games worth of memory, no more. believe me, i waited in line all last night for it. Get either zelda or mario and pre-order it from either ebgmaes or walmart, even try target or best buy. go for a bundle pack if you can, the only think they dont include thoguh is memory cards and the classic controller. good luck
your wii pal,
Corey

First off, yeah, I'd pick up a memory card. I don't know if it's required, since I don't own one yet. (Yet!) Hopefuly someone else can feild that for you.
Zelda is the obvious choice, so is Mario. I wouldn't recomend Red Steel, it's been getting pretty average reviews. The claim that Zelda has a weak story is not something I've heard anywhere else. The IGN.com review is calling it the best Zelda ever and even ventures to call it the best release game ever. It got a 9.5 out of 10, the only real complaints were about the sometimes grainy graphics and sound (Lack of Orchastrated Music, rather than MIDI and still no character speach, just text [the way it should be, as far as I'm concerned.. for Zelda games only, though.])
Also, they're releasing a game that basicly no one knows about in December called 'Super Swing Golf', based on a free to play, downloadable computer game called Albatross 18. If you dig golf or are just open to something different, I highly recomend this game. And like I said, you can check it out online first and get an idea of the game before you buy it. The previews I've seen have said it stays pretty true to the computer version.
Otherwise, another sure hit game to look for will be Super Smash Bros.: Brawl. The last SSB game, released on the game cube was wildly popular and I can tell you it was pretty friggin awesome. (Also made for a great drinking game. Set your lives to 100 and go at it, if you fall you have to drink!)

In my opinion you should pre order from ebgames. Even if the games out right now aren't great you can play the sports one that comes with it (if it comes with it I'm not sure.) and the one remote that detects where you are pointing it will make some good shooting games. i haven't read about any of the games so i cant help you there but I'm pretty sure they're coming out with super smash bros something for it.(Ive lost track of which one is which) if you like the rampage series then they will have a rampage total destruction for it with like 7 new monsters in it. (personally i wouldn't recommend it. Ive played the PlayStation version and it was fun for about 2 months, after that it got repetitive I got it because the original was fun and also it had a low price.) I'm not sure about the price for this one. But i would get the wii. And no you dont need a memory card the last i checked, but get one anyway so if you need extra room.
You never know a friend might get you some games ;)

I got mine today and honestly, I don't think I'll ever be able to play Madden on another system again. I was a little worried that I'd get carpal tunnel playing, but I've played all afternoon and my wrists are fine. Playing Madden on the Wii is a wonderful experience. Madden is always my favorite game, and with the Wii I feel like I'm really playing. I can't wait for more sports titles to come out.

The launch titles seem like they kinda suck.
I suggest you get the system if you can because they are going to be selling out everywhere. Dont get the bundle because as I said the games seem like trash. Save your money and wait till Super Smash brothers Brawl comes out.
To tide you over till the spring pick up a sports game or something because you will utilize the wiimote capabilities and it will keep you entertained with the pure novelty of the controler.

it might be awhile till you'll be able to get a Wii (probably should preorder)
Red Steel i heard has HORRIBLE graphics. Zelda has a weak storyline, but awesome controls. Mario isn't even out yet, and it won't be out for a little bit.
no, you don't need a memory card, it's got 512 MB of internal memory.

All stores are sold out already, you just get a 360, the games are way better, the price was just lowered to $200 and you are gurrantteed to get one, since it came out last year. Plus the wii basically only has little kid games, like rayman. 360 has halo and gears of war.
