this age is really difficult when it comes to buying gifts. trust me i know. i have 17 year old daughter and it has been crazy for the past few years buying her thing. because god forbid if you buy them something to wear they wont like it for sure. they are to old for some things and to young for others. i have my daughter standing here right now and so now she is going to try to help. so, here it goes/ well i remember being 16 and i didn't like things and wouldn't wear most clothes my mother bought for me. you can try gifts cards to places she likes to shop or for a music store girls love music. there are also TV shows that she may watch ex. charmed, lauguna beach and so on. they have them in seasons and at a good price. OK that's just some ideas i hope you find something good luck.

Depends what kind of girl she is! If she has an apparent "girly side", try looking into some reasonably priced perfumes, an eyeshadow set (or just a whole makeup set), a trendy box to hold all kinds of doo-dads, a nice bracelet, hair thinga-ma-bobs, a lovely sweater, etc.

If she's into "gadgets", try an MP3, an Ipod, digital camera, mobile, etc. If you can, that is!

However, if she's not into these kind of things, maybe a craft kit or something. Like to make beaded jewelery, to sew, paint or so. An object to add in her room could be nice, also-- like a really cute pillow or just anything that represents a certain interest she has.

Finally, the best thing you can give her is a lot of attention, love and caring for her birthday, I think. Not to sound overly sappy, but she'll remember if turning 16 really *was* "sweet", so make sure it is! ; )

P.S. Hope this helped, good luck and Happy Birthday to her-- best of wishes... have fun! : )

An Ipod, anything from Abercrombie and Fitch. Anything from Sephora. A trip to the salon for a makeup application, some hilights or a haircut. New sunglasses, a digital camera, a cell phone if she doesn't have one. Just surprise her. All these things are the in thing for 16 year old girls.

Bath accessories are always a go...make her a basket full of bath gels, soaps, shampoos and lotions.

Or you could always go with a gift card to somewhere she likes. Most banks also have a credit card (visa) that you can load just like a gift card and she can spend it anywhere.

Clothes, money, perfume, make-up shoes, Ipod, digital camera, lap-top, cell phone, gift card, bath stuff, lotion, books, movies,Cd's, a purse, jewelry, stuff for her bedroom...
That's all I can think of. Ask her what stores she likes and get her a gift card if she'd like that.

Gift cards are great for teenagers, they're so picky about what they want and that way she can pick out whatever she wants. Just find out what her favortite store is. Good Luck!

If you know her favorite place to shop, then I would get her a gift card to that place. Then she can pick out what she wants. As they get older, it seems like they get harder and harder to buy for. My daughter is almost 13 and I haven't a clue what to get her. Hope this helps.
