First: Dont turn off your firewall.
Second: If you are trying to use the webcam to broadcast to the internet, read up on how to open up different ports on your firewall to allow this. This totally depends on the application you are using for your webcam.

Just configure your firewall to allow your webcam access. Then you will be able to use the webcam on line. If you are not sure how just have someone that does do it for you.

Besides what already said you must either refer not to Yahoo Messenger cam or using very old router. After checking firewall (check it first), open port 5100 (for Yahoo cam) in routers interface (opening ports always creates security whole therefore upgrading routers firmware if available (its usually offered for free by router’s manufacturer) would be way better way to go).

Go to your control panel, double click windows firewall, select Off , and windows will warn you that its not recommended..
I recommend you have an internet security software before you disable your firewall.
