good question. as it depends upon what part of the liberal front they are addressing. or at any given moment. to one group they say pull out, to another they say add more troops, and yet to another they say a gradual exit.. which one do you think they really mean? hard to say guess it depends on what day it is..

Democrats will not "cut and run" - it would be politicl suicide at this point. I do believe the Democrats may spend some time actually asking the Iraqi people what they feel they need to be successful so we can withdraw in a planful way.
Until now we have "stayed the (wrong) course", and been thankful that there have been no more September 11 attacks on U S soil. This is not a result of our attack of Iraq - it is a result of our arrogance. We have argued that because our youth are dying half way across the globe we here are safer and our freedom is assured. This is short sighted and vain.
The Democrats will hopefully look into the decisions regarding Iraq and our continued involvement there. October 2006 was the deadliest month for U S military since the beginning of the war. To be honest - withdrawing will not make anything worse then it already is.
It is my hope that we allow the Iraqi people to figure out what THEY want for their future. We will never leave there if we insist that their government looks just like ours. It will not work.
....and I sure hope that the Democrats DO SOMETHING - ANYTHING - to help end the needless deaths (U S and Iraqi).

We're trading a party that had a bad plan, with a party that will argue over what to do with the bad plan. There's no good solution to the quagmire that BUSH led us into.
However- we'll probably declare victory and slowly extract ourselves from being a policeman to their civil war.
It doesn't matter how far you've gone down the wrong road... turn around. Bush will probably go to his grave believing that if we only stayed another year, and spent another few hundred billion dollars and a few thousand more lives- a western democracy would have broken out in Iraq. Sadly- as much as we'd like that to happen, it doesn't appear to be the future there.

Democrats will protect Americans at home and lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens and our allies, and they will heed the advice of our commanders on the ground and force a change in the failed Republican strategy in Iraq. That will be the start of a long road ahead to clean up the mess the Republicans have created.

There is no solution for Iraq following the strategy of Bush & cheney. Henry Kissinger just stated that to the BBC, and he is about as Republican as they get. Bush drove us into this ditch, now we have to bring out a good sized wrecker to get us out of it. It is going to take a lot of wisdom and imagination to come up with any plan that will not just make matters worse, as we watch Iraq collapsing into chaos and violence. We can only hope that Democrats will have better intentions and more vision than Bush and Cheney.

Who knows. We've been waiting and waiting for a plan, a solution, or even a possible idea but nothing yet. Now I hear rumblings of a draft? They sure know how to piss off their constituency pretty darn quick like.
