I'm still undecided on stem cell therapy. As of right now, I'm not down with cutting up an embryo for the sake of someone else. BUT if someone in my family were to get sick and could benefit from stem cells, I'm sure I'd be all for it. (so what, I'm a hypocrite :)

And cloning people is just stupid. Why would you do that? We already have enough people running around this world. It's a waste. And it would morally wrong to clone ppl just for their organs. So, again, NO on the cloning.

Oh god talk about a hot potato there. For stem cell therapy and research I will support. Cloning a person absolutely not; however, cloning of specific tissues to create a functioning organ such as a heart, lung, kidney etc. that is a genetic match for the person who needs one absolutely. But we are a long way from that being able to happen.

i oppose cloning only because,if we dont, the world would no doubt have a billion paris hiltons !!!!actually, scientists say dolly the sheep was aging at twice the rate of a normal sheep, developing osteoarthris, for examople at an early age.so,it would be awful for, say,a 30 year old clone to look and feel 60 !!!unless they can work that one little problem out,it would be mean.plus, parents are so egotistical already.if lots of parents expect their kids to be gr8 looking, all star athletes, popular,"gifted",already,=can u imagine the pressure on ur clone to live the life u WISH u had?the expectations to act like the original would be enormous, but the poor clone would still have their own plans, mind and will-and if it doesnt act like a carbon copy of the original, some shallow individuals may get mad at the clone for not REALLY being them.and, only shallow, vacuous,"hollywood" types can afford cloning,so their littele clones would really feel pressure to live up to the originals expectations and reputations.a hard act to follow !so,for now,i oppose cloning on the grounds that the poor clones may be unfairly burdened psychologically, and because aging is a thing we try to avoid, guarenteeing a person will age twice as fast, like dolly the sheep, seems unnecessarily cruel.who wants to be 40 when ur 20????? as for stem cells,i dont know enough about the prto/con to answer.

I think we are a long way from cloning people. Perhaps soon we'll be able to "clone" certain organs. I'm in favor of stem cell therapy/research. My father recently succumbed to Parkinson's Disease. It was very difficult for all of us to watch him waste away and know there was no treatment available.

I don't see the point of cloning, other than organ harvesting, but I definitely support stem cell research and therapy.

I believe in stem cell therapy, they can use adult stem cells, stem cell transplants cure lupus, arthritis, ms, and it can stop people from rejecting donor organs from donors. I do not believe in cloning people, to me it is unethical and the repercussions of such actions would be interesting but horrible. Besides we have enough weirdness in this world of our already.

Right now both those things are in their infancy. I think they should come as close as they can to perfecting the processes before they try them out on humans. But once they figure it out, why not? There's no logical reason why something which could be that potentially helpful to the human race should be supressed in any way. Religious fundamentalists, the only group that truly opposes progress in these matters, truly don't understand the science or the positive implications for sick people.

YES...I need a clone, My kidneys are really bad..it would be nice to have a back up. It is possible for them to clone organs instead of whole "functioning" humans.
