In the UK, does anyone know if a neighbor has ANY legal rights if they are pissy because they hear a neighbour snoring loudly? Serious answers only please, for my friend snores so loud, and she told me that her next door dorm neighbours have slammed the walls, slammed doors over and over (FYI-She NEVER woke up, she had done a triple shift at work, and was SO tired, that snoring was inevitable, and NATURAL)Any input anybody? Thanx

Nothing your friend's neighbour can do about it, snoring is considered an involuntary act, like a baby crying. Snoring can be dangerous though and if it's load enough to wake the neighbours she should see a doctor. There's a complaint called sleep apnoea, where people can stop breathing when they snore.

Snoring is not inevitable or due to degree of tiredness really.
Natural or not, I don't think it matters because they're still causing noise and neighbours shouldn't be expected to wear earplugs to deal with noisy neighbours.

Have the neighbours actually asked her about it first before slamming the doors and so on? Maybe she could try those breathe right strips or something.

I would like to know the answer to this too as I have experienced a neighbour who snored insanely loud but luckily it seemed to stop before I cracked up. It's really not funny.

You might have been better putting this in the LAW section though.

Meditation. Perhaps you should worry about something else besides how loud your neighbours snore? If you really find it a problem, move your sleeping accommodation to a different room, ear plugs to blot out the noise or perhaps just talking to them about it will help...

I would say not but my partner says yes and it sounds like a train crashing through a building site? Fortunately for him he works night shift 5 nights a week and he doesn't snore loud.
