When my 7 month old daughter started to eat solids, she would sit just fine in her high chair, now she leans to one side. She still doesn't sit without support, which I thought she'd be doing at around 6 months of age.
The first time that I handed her a sippy cup, she held it with both hands and brought it to har mouth.... Now she won't even take the sippy cup!
And one other thing: she said a few words, like "hi", "yeah", "mama"... now she doesn't do it anymore.
Why is she doing these things? It's like she's taking steps back in her development, instead of forward. Do all babies act like this at some point and then catch up again, or should I be concerned?
Thank you so much for taking the time to read the long question!!

How old is she now? If she is only 7 mths .... I have never heard of one saying words. Some children regress, especially if there is a change in the envoiroment or stress. Are they being less nurtured or more nurtured. If they appear healthy then no need to worry. Example.... my child at 8 months was almost walking (total nightmare I may add) and then he just stopped. I didn't know why. Then it hit me that at 8 mths it was Christmas and we had everything barred up (he had less freedom and space) and 2 mths later when his strength build up again he was walking at 10 mths. Also, us girls are fussy! Make sure you don't give into her to much, if she picks up on that she will know how to work you.

Alot of babies and children takes steps back in thier development. Maybe she isn't ready for a sippy cup?? I know my son wouldn't take one until he was 9 or 10 months old. Also my son didn't start walking until he was 14 months old, which to me seemed late. But if you are really concerned about your babies development I would consult your babie's doctor. They can tell you want is normal and what is not. Hope this was helpful---Crystal

all babies take different stages in learning. perhaps with the sippy cup, she tried it, didn't like it and is thinking i don't want that anymore. and with her talking she may feel she wants to learn more, and is wanting to observe a little more. they are like sponges and love to learn. she is developing a lot more information as she grows. while she is in the high chair maybe she wants to relax and "lean over" it may be more comfortable for her. my daughter had a lot of trouble sitting up she still does, it's almost as if she has no stomach muscles. she is 4 now and still has trouble. she is very slender. and shouldn't have problems. let her learn and observe. work with her more on the ones you have concerns with. she will come around give her time.

Your expectations for a seven month old are way too high. If it wasn't for the fact that the baby is indeed regressing, I wouldn't be worried about the things she's doing, because it's normal for most babies that age. But since she is an advanced baby and is now regressing, I would take her to a doctor immediately due to potential illnesses and neurological problems.

Sounds normal to me. Babies will develop at different rates. It takes time for them to develop fine and gross motor skills as well as language. She is just practicing and practicing each day. Babies will do more things in one day and not so much in another. Give her time. Check this site below.

Take her to a doctor. This is not typical. Maybe it's nothing bad or major, but she needs to be checked out. It could be something as minor as an ear infection, they cause regressive behaviors at times, but it could be something neurological or autism. The quicker you take her the better off she'll be because of it.

while it is composed of naming a toddler...make the call count type for something. many circumstances individuals only %. out names no longer understanding there meaning. i think of the call Olivia is a effective call and Rylan is unique.keep in mind infants ought to hold their names around. Sleep on it, i'm beneficial different names will come to you as will.

This could be a lot of things, but I don't think its normal. You should take her to her pediatrician for further recommendation, and stop using the internet.
