I don't think they expect to have the same figure, I just think they would like to have the same figure in their sixties as they did when they were in their twenties, but having babies and filling out over the years doesn't always make it possible, guess its just wishful thinking on their part.

I love to see women of ALL ages take pride in their appearance, not in what they wear but in their physical appearance. It shows that they have pride and wish to live a healthier life in later years by taking care of themselves. And it is possible, too!
Look at such women as Charo, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Rachel Welch, Barbara Eden, Linda Carter, Goldie Hawn, Susan Lucci... and there are so many more that I can't think of right now. They don't dress like teenie-boppers but they still look great!
I've never seen a fat ballerina and I've seen ballerinas in their late 50s and early 60s, and believe me... they look great from every angle!
It's all a matter of knowing that one's metabolism slows down and the need for lower caloric intake and/or increase of daily physical activities; in other words, it is possible to look great even if one is in their 70s by simply keeping a healthy, balanced diet and exercising moderately but routinely. It can be done but it is not restricted to just women but to men, as well. The late Buster Crabb was a good example; let us not forget Jack LaLanne and his gorgeous wife, Elaine, who are in their late 80s and early 90s!

I don't think we expect to have the same figure we had 40 years ago. We grieve losing our youthful body. Things look different, feel different and respond differently than they did when we were younger. At the same time, I LOVE being comfortable with my body. The silly vanity of youth is gone. It takes more to stress me out than it did when I was younger. I am thankful for being relatively healthy and having a husband who loves me.

(stay young looking) because i have learnt alot from her and learnt more from other surroundings and the possibilities. YAY! : )

I sure don't expect it!
But I'm 53, and I still do. It's freaking weird. I expect it to all collapse overnight one of these days real soon.

probably because they think thier men will be more attracted to "fitter" women!. They want to feel secure about themselves, and cannot do that when there menfolk are eying up women with hour glass figures. So.............it's mens fault!......heehee
