Because society still tells us that all women should look like the bone thin anorexic teenage/twenty something models or you are nothing. All women want to look good.

Well, let's see... how about Charo, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Rachel Welch, Barbara Eden, Linda Carter, Goldie Hawn, Susan Lucci... and there are so many more that I can't think of right now. They don't dress like teenie-boppers but they still look great!
I've never seen a fat ballerina and I've seen ballerinas in their late 50s and early 60s, and believe me... they look great from every angle!
It's all a matter of knowing that one's metabolism slows down and the need for lower caloric intake and/or increase of daily physical activities; in other words, it is possible to look great even if one is in their 70s by simply keeping a healthy, balanced diet and exercising moderately but routinely. It can be done but it is not restricted to just women but to men, as well. The late Buster Crabb was a good example; let us not forget Jack LaLanne and his gorgeous wife, Elaine, who are in their late 80s and early 90s!

I'll be honest, some of the women in their 40's plus look better then those in their 20's!

Some people don't like to accept they are getting older and they want to be young for as long as possible.
It makes me cringe seeing an older woman dressed as a young one.
