no i don't think so but i could be wrong, if you contact BT they may give you advice on how you can connect an external hard drive to your laptop wirelessly

No, this is not possible.
I am assuming you want to make the USB hard drive a SAN on your network?
If you want to offer the hard drive as a network resource, then plug it into any PC on the network and share it as available to everyone and call it something useful on the network.
This resource would then be available to everyone whenever the PC or laptop is switched on.

yes you can use a external usb hard drive to connect to wireless, i used one for a while not realising i had a built in in wireless card
