What would happen if you put a ripe tomato in glass of strong pure water?

What is strong water....
I will base my answer on just "pure" water. The skin will repel the water as it is slightly greasy, it will not absorb any water...;

Probably not much. While some water might move into the tomato by osmosis, the cell walls of the tomato cells wouldn't let the cells rupture.

What is strong pure water?O.K i f it is very strong solution of salt or sugar ,the skin o f tomato wits.
IF it is pure water the tomato absorbs water and become soggy

experiment.you put tomato in water & find answer.OK

It would become plump, or swell just a bit.
This is often done at food processor to increase weight, of fruit vegetable and meats.
