Depending on the type of house and size of roof area, ie a terraced house will be cheaper than a detached house, a bungalow is generally cheaper than a house.( less scaffolding and not so high so safer.)I would estimate from £6000.- £10000. easily.

Before doing anything you should make sure that the roof really does need replacing. Have you had a full surveyors report? if you ask for quotations to replace the roof, that is all you will get, none of the firms will tell you if there is another option. It may be a long shot & not applicable in your case but there are companies out there who specialise in Roof Restoration which is a hell of a lot cheaper & less traumatic!

It will all deng on what you are recovering roof with. Generaly contractors charg labor by the square(100 sq. ft) It will also depend on where you live. Northern climates are usally more exspensive but costal areas have their own issues. I recently had a new roof but on a house I was selling it was 15 square
Labor was $2700 materails was $ 1600 I used metal roofing which in most areas is cheaper materail and labor

it would depend on the size of the roof and the materials used, get 3 or 4 roofers in to give you estimates, if your in the uk this is the wrong time of year for this kind of work
