Another solution - have knee-replacement surgery!
I suffered for years with my knees - always thought
it would get better with everything I tried -but it did not.
About 2 years ago I had both knees replaced, at the same time.
Best thing I ever did. No more pain, walking, standing, bending knees, all in all, the best solution for me!

I have suffered from knee pain for 3 years now and I had about a year of physio and every week he massaged my knees which loosened them up a lot and then he made me do exercises to build up the other muscles around the knee. He gave me a thick elastic loop and I had to lift each leg up 20 times every night, and as the weeks went by he gave me a stronger loop. This made my muscles really strong and although my knees still grind, it doesn't hurt at all and unless I put a lot of pressure on my knees (e.g. Grande Plies in ballet {I think that's how it's spelled!}) they are painless.

I think that a company called "Professional's Choice" made a simple strap for stabilizing the
knee cap. I have heard it is very helpful.

To get rid of the pain you could do several things, put ice on it but not for too long, put a ace bandage or you could do some leg exercises but DO NOT GO HEAVY!.

Do you do sports? Sometimes you just need to stretch/strengthen you muscles. Also, orthodics in your shoes sometimes help.
