Considering the price tag on the PS3, it will be a while before they stop making games for the PS2. Software developers are concerned about the PS3, and a little wary of creating games for it because they feel that not as many people will own one because it's so expensive. Consider the type of gamers that will own one - that is what software developers are considering as well.

Bottom line, I think perhaps eventually but it will be quite a while.

The Gamecube, on the other hand, will probably see the halt sooner than the PS2 will.

if i remember correctly didn't they wait exactly one year after they release the ps2 to stop making ps1 games?? because i had a ps1 and i remember one year after the ps2 came out they stopped making ps1 games. also i think that if you stop making ps2 games after a years ps3 will be like 350$ prolly so then ill buy one but until then i love ps2.

Pretty much. There will be a couple games for the PS2 in the coming months, but after that there will be only liscensed games and yearly sports updates, and every so often a random game will pop up...

eventually they will, but it'll be 5 years at least, they're somethign like 13million PS2 out there and only 150,000 PS3 so they will sell a load more games if they do on both platforms for a long time to come.
