It's a really LAME excuse, but anyway, honor her request & wait and see where your relationship goes after Christmas is over...

If someone wanted to show a little gratitude, they could make you something, like children do...Wrapping paper is not so expensive, or they could dig up a plant & re-pot it, that's practically for free...

I never get anything for Christmas doesnt bother me in the slightest...there were (6) of us growing up we got (1) thing each.
men were ***** to me and the kids needed everything..
u would be surprised how unimportant "things" become when u never had them..in the first place.. its called humility ..learning through loss and loss and more loss....
what Jesus did for us ..his birth ..his life ..his death..
Im not preaching a sermon by far but think about it had u never exchanged in the first place would u really want a "gift" ...most likely .. No.. remember it is the spirit of God we all need to feel ..this why when Christmas comes u really want the person u love around..Have a Good Holiday and forget about trivial presents ..Jesus is the reason for the season...God Bless U...
