The first thing I would suggest is making sure that there is not a medical condition causing this. My oldest son wet the bed until he was 11, after ruling out medical causes, we purchased an alarm. It was a sensor that clipped to his underpants hooked to a small pagerlike device that clipped onto his nightshirt. The pagerlike alarm would vibrate and emit a very loud obnoxious beeping sound when the sensor would become wet. My son used the alarm for less than a month and he quit wetting the bed. We purchased our alarm online for less that $70. He is now 14 and hasn't wet the bed for 3 years.

I wet the bed until I was MARRIED! Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband who was very understanding. I only wet the bed once when we were first married - after that it stopped completely.

I was molested as a young girl of 12 so I believe there can be an emotional cause for bed wetting. I believe my situation stopped because I felt truly loved and safe for the first time in my life.

We've been married over 45 years and he is still the love of my life.

I had this problem until I was in my teens. Finally the doctor told me it has to do with sleeping problems. I was sleeping to hard and wouldn't realize I was going to bed. The treatment I got was a copper sheet that you put under yourself when you go to bed. A buzzer would ring everytime it would get wet so you could get up and use the bathroom. I worked for me but doesn't help everyone.

Hope everything works out

I also had this problem all through elementary school. My doctor told us that it was because I was born 2 months premature and my bladder was still maturing at a slower rate than normal. I took some persription nasal spray for a couple of years and eventually grew out of it. It is embarrasing for kids, but eventually they will grow out of it.
