When you put it on to drain is it trying to pump out ?? If the hose is jerking but no water comes out then its blocked. Mine did this once and it was a sock had got wedged in the beginning of the hose xx

It must be the drainage hose, the water cant go anywhere else. The majority of the drainage hose is out of view, unless you've taken the whole thing apart, so it must be blocked.
Hopefully, it will be under warrenty, or you're looking at arounf £70 for someone to come out and fix it.
In the future, every three months or so, put your washing machine on the hottest cycle with clear vinager, and a dash of bleach; this will help unblock any potential blockages.

Look,
If the machine is still turning, it's not the belt.
if you find it's the pump.
1. They aren't expensive (they can't be repaired).
2. If you've had the filter off (the one at the lowest part, usually held in place by a clip) - then you have enough savvy to change a pump. It's dead easy, you just need a bowl to catch any water.
Remove the pump input hose and check nothing is blocking it there (but most modern pumps are designed so that they don't block).

If you live in a very hard water area the drain pipe itself may be blocked with a sort of gooey gunge. Iv'e had this problem and solved by taking the internal drain pipe apart and clearing out the muck. It's dead easy to do and won't cost you a bean. The machine itself was OK. Good luck.

The pump is mostly likely blocked or burnt out, this is a common break down with washing machines. You can take it apart yourself if you feel confident, make sure you unplug from the electricity and there will be water everywhere.

Can you hear the drainage pump running at the bottom of the machine or does it just sit there silently?

the impeller of the out pump may be jammed...when you pulled out the filter did the water come out ?if not the blockage may be between the drum and the filter. funny this happened to me just yesterday..was a piece of plastic back stuck in the back of the filter..hope this helps .good luck:)

the pump is probably in need of repair..
it can be costly, depending on if its just a line or if it is totaly shot..
Your best bet is to call a professional and get an estimate, it might be more cost effective to just buy a new washer...
