I have two small scars (maybe 1/8 inch or so ) groin area, one in my belly button. I had previously had 8 diffrent lap surgeries and they just used the same spots pretty much. I was more sore from that surgery than any other ones I had including my c-section! I am not sure why, but I know a lot of people say tubals really hurt more than other surgeries and I agree. The good thing is within a week or less I was up and feeling just fine.

Oh and one more note as to what some else said. It should NOT change your periods at all. Mine are the same, and my doctor told me it should not change them at all.

It all depends on how your doctor preforms the surgery. My doctor went in through my belly button and right at my hair line. I have no scars at all. It will hurt when you get up and sit down. Not to bad when you walk, unless you are walking a lot. I had mine done when my baby was 6 weeks old, so that made a difference. I think if it could of been done at delivery it would of been better. That way you can recover from childbirth and tubaligation at the same time. I could not have it done b/c of Hurricane Ivan, the hospital was not allowing electoral surgery. Most are like 99.9% effective.

Tiny scar. Super fast recovery. After a few years of preventing the body from not doing what its supposed to do, your periods will become extremely heavy, bloating each month will become unbearable, headaches, and externally there will be swelling, lets not leave out diarrhea. The docs don't tell you this. Pretty much thats the way it was for me and many of my counterparts. Then came birth control pills to stop the agony. This works buts thats why I got the tubal, so I wouldn't have to use BC. Hysterectomy in the end, finally paradise.

have assisted with a few...usually the doctor will go in through your belly button so the scar is nearly invisible. You may feel minor pain/discomfort for a week or so, but take it easy and take your pain medication as directed. Good luck, you'll be fine!!!

They now do them thru the belly button. I know you didn't ask this, but please think long and hard before you do this. I had mine done and regretted it almost right away . I am now going to havea reversal done. I am a member of a club of lots of women who like me, had the TL and then regretted it. I know there are a lot of women who never regret it, but I just want to make sure you don't end up where we are wishing you hadn't done it! Good luck and God bless!
