What will be the outcome of the "War on Terror"? Will there be another Great Depression? Do the Republicans go the way of the Whigs and are never heard from again? Will we still be using gasoline to power our cars, assuming anyone can afford them by then? Will a woman be president? What other areas can you predict?

I predict we will do stem cell research and cloning; and while these things will help us to some extent, I think cloning especially will prove to be more problem than solution.

The cost of mediocre healthcare will be more than a mortgage payment and only the top 5% will have health insurance. It will no longer be easy to retire in other countries because they will no longer want US citizens. Smaller and electric cars will be imported but the wealthy will still use the more powerful gas powered vehicles as status symbols. Republicans as we once knew the party will no longer exist-the moderates will continue to become Blue Dog Democrats. As much as I would like to see it, I doubt any independent woman can become President in the US. We've gone backwards there for at least 10 years. If we do see one, she'll be very well behaved and do what she's told. I see more disasters and poverty and yes, a Great depression. Other countries won't want to help us because the US becomes completely anti-foreign countries and anti-foreign aid. Since history, Civics and critical thinking are obselete, people will forget what the great United States was and accept Big Brother..

The future of the US, 50 years from now: GONE

Less than 50 years from now, global warming effects will be moving toward their long-term consequences. The US and the rest of the world will become largely irrelevant as Mother Nature shows us how badly we have treated our only place to live and what she will teach us to show us our place. All the rich people and corporations will finally have to pay the price for their greed and corruption. All the stupid governments who thought they could ignore real science because of politics will not be able to save their rich constituents - or their poor ones, either.

Terrorists will freeze, drown or die of starvation like everybody else. God/Allah will ignore everyone's prayers.

Democrats and Republicans alike will suffer the same consequences, blaming each other as usual.

It will be touch and go for the survival of the human race, and it will be just the beginning.
