You noticed it too? Yep they have definitely done the shrinking violet bit and it was relatively recent as well. Most times you think a choccy bar is 'not as big as it used to be' it's normally comparing them from childhood. The first time I tried a Werther's Original was about 10 years ago and I'm certainly well beyond childhood - they were bigger then, absolutely sure of it!!

I noticed the other day that Sherbet Fountains are only about half-full nowadays and the liquorice stick can't be used as a staw anymore.

Maybe grandad Werther has already part-sucked them before putting them on sale?

No it was not your imagination, they were certainly bigger and rounder, when i bought some after quite a few years i was very disappointed as they do not last as long and being smaller i am rather inclined to bit them and gone in no time at all then like you i wish they were as they used to be.

Yes, I ate some yesterday and remember thinking exactly the same thing. Now it was a small bag rather than a roll of sweets, so I'm hoping that if I buy a roll pack next time they'll be back to the way we remember them.

Yes I think they were too. However, Penguin bars have shrunk also, but the price is the same. Its just a marketing con and they think we are so thick that we won't notice.

They were, as were curly wurlys and wagon wheels to name but a few. Obviously the general consensus nowadays is give less, charge more.

I'm sure they were though when I was a kid they were just called butterscotch and were slightly harder but easier to break your teeth on!
