My apartments have been overrun with hoodlums.
There is loud banging thug music all day and night, 100 kids running around fighting, screaming and tearing stuff up. Plus my neighbors do some kind of voodoo crap in the hallway every night
they are infringin upon my religious beliefs and my human right to a peaceful existance.
Will the ACLU support me? Probably not, I am white and I have a job.

Charles this is a racial issue. I am white and 95% of my neighbors are actually black. Most evacuees from new orleans

It's not a matter of being white or having a job or not.
If people are bothering you, that is a nuisance or trespass civil law suit. Against the people who are bothering you.
The ACLU deals with constitutional violations. And it doesn't count as a constitutional violation unless the govt is the one causing the problems. Now, if those hoodlums are govt agents, or the neighbors are acting under govt orders, then you have govt action. But if not, then it's a private non-constitutional issue.

It is not a problem for the ACLU it is a matter for the police. Disturbing your peace is a viable complaint if the noise ordinances are being broken. But consider the reprisals you could face by getting the cops involved. There are a 100 kids and only one of you.
Talk to your older neighbors and see if they are bothered as much as you are. If you can find 2 or 3 who think enough is enough, go to your landlord and demand that something is done. If he will not do anything call the cops and ask for regular patrols. If you have a video camera, use it to document the activities going on (fights, property damage, etc) this might persuade the police more than just complaining.

No, this is not a racial issue, at least not the way you think. Just because there are a lot of black people in your apartment doesn't mean they're hoodlums.
As for the 'thug' music and the loud noises, you could talk to your neighbors and ask them to be more considerate. You do have a right to a peaceful living condition, but instead of complaining here, you should first talk to your neighbors and then if necessary, take it up with the residential services for the loud noise.
Black people don't bite. Why not talk to your neighbors first and break that first barrier?

The ACLU filed an amicus brief on behalf of Rush Limbaugh's right to privacy of his medical records, so being white or fat or rich or Republican or a drug addict does not disqualify a person from being represented by this organization. If all you are is white, surely that's no obstacle.
The ACLU website explains their basic purpose. They can come down on either side of an issue, and they serve as a good watchdog for our rights as citizens. They are primarily concerned with protecting rights to free speech, freedom of religion through separation of church and state, equal protection, procedural due process and.the right to privacy from governmental intrusion. These days, with the Patriot Act, NSA wiretapping and the new system of military courts and denial of habeus corpus, we need more, not fewer watchdogs.
You should check their website for an explanation of what they do and why. Don't just rely on the Republican talking points, see what they say about themselves before you attack.

The ACLU will tell you they do not represent individuals, i never understood that because i thought all people were individuals. I would suggest purchasing an m-16, 30 caliber machine gun, hand grenades, mortars, or maybe if you are not a violent person as i am, you could always move.

Yes. And you should also call the most Rev. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Louis Farrakhan as well. They will be about as helpful as the ACLU. Here's a novel thought: try moving.

No, the ACLU will not help you. No one is forcing you to join in any religious activity, certainly no state agency. What civil rights of yours are being violated?
Your right to quiet enjoyment is being violated, but you will have to take that up with your landlord and, if he fails to act, you can take him, her or it to court. At your expense.
It sounds to me like you are not a very tolerant person, however, and you think that being white and employed used to entitle you to something, which it no longer does. You're right: the rules have changed. Being white does not entitle you to anything special. Live with it.

You do not need to contact the ACLU. Contact your landlord and local law enforcement. And keep contacting them. Either that or save up and move to a better place.

You can easily get the ACLU to work on your cause by telling them you are a communist. Tell them that you feel George Bush caused the problem by illegally relocating those people where you live. They'll get on it immediately.

We shall overcome. You are right though. The A.C.L.U would just defend the hoodlums if you called them.
EDIT: Hey! Muskrat. The reason that the A.C.L.U even bothered with Rush was it was a medical records case. That is the last thing them wackos wanted to go to court. He told them he didn't want their help anyway.Listen to the show.
